Maybe this hadn't been the best idea.
Sure, Mori knows that Fujimori-chan is a horror writer, but... do her books have to be so scary? The model isn't even twenty five pages into the book yet, and already she's spooked. With the return of the sun, he'd decided to try reading the signed book Kyoki had given her (the sketch that Kyoki had drawn of her is safely tucked away in his room). And where else to take advantage of the new found gorgeous weather than the beach?
She's a good bit up from the waves though still definitely on the beach, sitting cross-legged on a towel she'd brought down from his and Rinta's bathroom. The book is in his lap, and she keeps covering his eyes with her hands in fear, peeking between the fingers to read another line before hiding again. The bad thing is gonna happen soon, he just knows it.
An hour later, she's still sitting there, having made less than 25 pages' progress, still struggling to pronounce the French sorcerer's name when a hand alights on his shoulder and Mori nearly topples over into the sand, yelping. She twists around and looks up to see...
"Fujimori-chan!!"
he gasps loudly, staring up with wide eyes at the author.
"Fujimori-chan startled Mori!"
she informs the other girl, sitting back up and pulling the now-closed book into his lap.
"Mori has been trying to read the book Fujimori-chan gave Mori, but..."
"It's so scary!!! Fujimori-chan is a really good writer, though!"
