Later on, we followed a path up into the mountains. We walked a full hour straight until some kind of viewing point that was at ¾ to the top. We enjoyed the view over the valley of fukuji and started walking back soon, as fog started to spread and twilight was coming.

For our first onsen experience we took a one hour bus ride to Fukuchi onsen. We had it all for us alone as it’s small and hidden in the mountains, a bit north of the famous Hirayu onsen. We spent over an hour relaxing in the outside bath and enjoying the surrounding sound of the mountains and river below.
