At this point, I believe that Serena will become the next Kalos Queen. I mean, she already beat Shauna, who supposed to be her main rival and other rivals as well such as Jessie, Miette and Nini. So actually the potential of her being Kalos Queen is really damn high, in my opinion.
Also i really hope in the Master Class, when she’s announced as the next Queen, she’ll have to battle (double battle hopefully) with the previous Queen aka Aria. That’d be damn cool.

Do you think the recent Omode episodes didn't have much shipping because the writers wanted to tone it down? The last Tripokalon with Miette had huge Amourshipping moments with Serena's constant blushing and such, but this Tripokalon had nothing. I find it strange since Omode wrote a lot of episodes with Serena's crush in the past, maybe she was told not to include much shipping this time.
I doubt it. I mean, there was very blatant Amourshipping just last week. We’re all very well in the know about Serena’s feelings by now, there’s no need for anything besides the occasional update that yes, her crush is alive and well. And we do get that often enough.
I know Omode is known mainly for the Amourshipping, but I think it’s just a side effect of her being in charge of so many Serena eps. And that’s why a number of episodes where Amour is in the focus just happen to be written by her.
She’s more or less ‘in charge’ of Serena development and Amour is one of the many things included in the package, but there are other, equally important things that come with it.
I think that the idea of Amour came from Omode.

Even though we have little details, I don’t like the details given to 2 of the last 5 episodes of XY “Season ″ of XY series.
Eevee capture:
I LOVE the Eevee family, not so much that Serena is getting it. However, the story of Eevee looks interesting enough for character development. (it’s not evolving anytime soon, so I hope they don’t use the evolution to resolve all the problems).
Tag battle:
Satoshi and tierno vs Shauna vs Serena. Seriously!? I don’t get the meaning of it (specially for Serena) but I expect that the battle ends quickly the moment of what I expect (Eevee has a crush on Pikachu).
TriPokalon episode:
A Pokemon Quiz? For a TriPokalon? That’s ridiculous (I made a funny critique about it). I think this proves that TriPokalon don’t work and they have to use things that don’t belong at all.
Also, why made the goal girls-only? Styling may be a girly activity, which is logic witht he idol stereotype that “justify” it, cokking might be a accepted even though it doesn’t get much logic, the free performance might might be accepted even though we see “performances” (although with differences) in the appeals of the Contests (with boys participating). But a quiz...? It makes no sense!
I think it proves Serena’s goal didn’t work in the show. Even less with
Gym Battle.
A Double battle is something rare and exciting. i expected Piakchu, but talonflame is also great. I look forward to see Frogadier starring in this Gym battle, with or without talonflame. Olympia may ppredict almost everything, but they can’t predict Ash’s strategies.
Pokemon XY&Z season: I hate naming XY&Z a series because it isn’t a series, at least what we consider a series.
How I expect to last? 18-25 episodes until the end of Flare arc, 9-12 of the episodes dedicated to the plot and the rest about other things (i think Noivern will be one of those episodes). The longer it last, the less episodes TF will get in proportion. i don’t expect a 40 episode-arc with 25 Flare episodes.
_It will not have Gym Battle, but it may have triPokalons.
-I think Frogadier’s evo will ahppen in a TF and/or Alan episode, but not the Noibat’s evo episode.
-About Ash vs Alan, it0s hyped because it would mean Ash vs an extremely good trainer. But I don’t treat it until I see footage of the battle (or until Act IV airs).
-I think the Mega Sceptile will be Ash’s. We know Shota will appear, but I don’t think he will get a Mega Sceptile that soon. And I actually like Shota*.
*And PLEASE; Shouta is NOT a reverse of Ash and Paul. No. Shouta is like a reverse version ofDawn and Zoey in the DP series (and I said reverse because Ash is the mentor here).

They literally called the episode “beyond truth and ideals! Ash vs N” everyone expected a battle of some kind but nothing of that sort happened. Even the conflict between the both was passive in nature as both of them were more or less the same side.
Not saying that is bad, but ash vs n is a terribly misleading title.

Yeah, but there is a difference between fan expectations, especially when VS doesn’t always imply a battle, and them actually using the word ‘battle’.

The word “battle? can be misleading because they could decide to not battle for cirucnstances of the plot. However, this makes a lot likely that they battle will indeed take palce, but I wouldn’t treat as confirmed until Act IV airs.

Is confirmed that:
Is Team Flare debuting on the anime on 29th October on XYZ01 (XY094)? It’s not confirmed, and I don’t think is happening exactly in this episode. I think it will happen between XYZ2 and XYZ5.
When Ash will met Alain? It could happen in every episode except XYZ1. In practice, I don’t expect to meet Alain until late in the plot.
What is “Satoshi Gekkouga”? I’m totally WTF with this. Personally, I’m treating this like if its Satoshi’s Greninja/Ash’s greninja and is like a normal Greninja/Gekkouga.
Is confirmed that Serena, Clemont and Bonnie will be doomed in this arc? For Clemont/Citron , I have very low expectations. For Serena, I don’t thinks he is that bad right now after “Omode’s trio”**. I think Bonnie/Eureka will be as good (bad if you don’t like) as always.
Is confirmed that Manon won’t appear in the arc? Extremely early, and I doubt it. I think Platane/Sycamore (this is an obvious choice), Manon/Mairin, Carnet/Diantha, Pachira/Malva and Handsome/Looker will appear. I’m 50/50 with AZ.
Is Team Flare appearing in all the episodes since its first appearance? No. And I expect episodes that had little to do with team Flare. I expect a 8-12 episode arc.
Is Ash getting Mega Sceptile? Maybe, and I think this Mega Sceptile is Ash’s.
What is the state of Amour in XYZ? Unless something happens in the Omode’s trio, I don’t expect important changes on the status of the ship until the Master Class.

Willt he OP and ED change? At least the footage, is an obvious yes. And the ED is changing.
What about M Charizrd Y? Why is not happening? i think it will still happen, but there’s something to cinsider. Ash already has 3 Flying types and one of them (Talonflame) has the EXACT type combo that M Charizard Y has. M Sceptile only shares Dragon type with Noivern (and its main type is Grass, who Ash doesn’t have in XY).
When Chespin will evovle? Unless Clemont/Citron is unexpectedly leaving (temporarely?) the group*** , don’t expect the evolution happening:
-In the first 10 episodes of XYZ (in particular, all the ones that would air in 2015).
-Until Ash gets Greninja, Key Stone, Sceptile, Sceptilite, Mega Sceptile on-screen, Noivern and the group has met Team Flare.
*Pokemon Fan could leak starting this hour (it’s being released on Friday 18th).

Actually, Act IV will air together with one anime episode on October 29th.
I knew that a chance was happening (how, obviously not, but knew, yes).
What we know (and details):
A new anime season named Pokemon XY and Z will start airing on October 29th. As new elements of this season are:
-Zygarde and its new forms will appear.
-Alain and Lysandre (and with Team Flare) will appear,
-Ash will get Greninja (a new form), Noivern and likely Mega Sceptile. No expect changes in the rest of the main cast.
The blob will interact with Eureka.
-On October 29th Mega Evolution ACt IV will air. Apparently it will air as a 1-hour special. (I think so also because there’s so little time for the plot (specially the 10 Mega battles).
Actually, I knew something was happened specially since the Data Broadcast (which is usually leaked after the first episode of a quarter suddenly features episodes out of nowhere. The only episode of “Pocket Monsters XY” missing is the Olympia Gym Battle.

Also, a thing that I want to mention (and I was waiting to know this). Massaki Iwane has only participating since Act III aired in a total of one episode, the Rotom episode (XY079). It’s very notorious that Iwane is taking now very long period without airing a single episode.
I suspect that Iwane isn’t doing episodes anymore because he is an expensive animator. Today is more cheap to animate with a lot of animators for episode rather than made Iwane animate every frame of an episode.
Piakchu Special thing.
Now I would get with the summaries, but before I have to deal with this.
The US version of version didn’t air the Pikachu Special, with its exactly this “ Pikachu Becomes a Star!? Its Movie Debut!! / How to Pikachu the Movie! Ready! Action!! / The Thunderclap Hero! Super Pikachu!! / Pikachu's Thrilling Blooper Awards”. The dub not airing this episode kinda confirms that this is an special and not an standard episode.
Hpwever, Adamant is sure that this is an episode and even claims that it was a mistranslation of this article.

The thing is... this article is a mess but doesn’t mean the Pikachu Special is a standard episode.
This is what happened:
On June 18th 2015, TV Tokyo aired a 1-hour special named “Pikachu the Movie”. The special contains:
-The Sky Relay episode, which is an standard episode, just being in a special. this episode have its dub aired in countries that reached this episode.
-The Pikachu movie episode, who has never been dubbed.
the thing is... the Pikachu movie specials looks like an special episode of XY designed to promote Cosplay Pikachu. Even though it looks like a normal episode...
It has 4 titles, thing that no other episode does. Also, the episode titles are distributed very differently from an standard episode. And unlike XY14, it’s not just a different background in the title card (XY14 had 1 title card with an special background that lasted a similar time than any title card).
And how other Japanese airdates. So far, we know...
-The episode aired on Hulu and was released on DVD as a standard episode; however, note that the Mega Evolution Specials air on those media. Also, other Japanese local channels where the network of TV Tokyo don’t reach supposedly (I can’t verify this) aired the episode.
-We don’t know about reruns of this episode. Probably it hasn’t happened yet.
What IS the Pikachu movie episode? Apparently a Special XY epsiode designed to promote Cosplay Pikachu.
What’s correct: Name it as “XY078″ and follow “XY079 afterwards” (Serebii, PM) and named it as a special (Bulbagarden, Filb)?
The things is both are “right”. Technically, is better to aisgn the code XY078 as “Piakchu movie special episode” if there was doubt at the time of Japanese airing. Like DP120 exists both at Serebii and Bulbagarden and we know it isn’t an standard episode (ist was a clip show (and the last episode that aired on 4:3, the dub obviously didn’t air this).
Pokemon Performer
I think that having idols is obe of those ideas that in theory may work but in practice they usually don’t work well. The main reason is that Pokemon isn’t an idol anime (Aikatsu, Pretty Rhythm) nor shares audience with idol anime.(Pretty Cure, Tamagotchi (actually isn’t)). People that like idol culture want to see idol anime. And if they want to watch Pokemon is for Pokemon’s characteristics, not for its adaptation of idol anime. Aikatsu and Pretty Rhythm(Pripara) offer idol activities almost every episode, Pokemon can’t do it vecause it isn’t an idol anime.
I think that Pokemon shouldn't have given its focus on Tripokalons . And if they did, it should be paid way more attention and focus the series (and now Tripokalons, with the aim of become idol).
Akemi Omode.
Akemi Omode is writing three consecutive episodes. And I don’t like it, specially when they give the reason of why. With all the respects, Serena’s story doesn’t fit in Pokemon at all. I don’t mind idol references in Pokemon but getting a goal of being an idol when it’s goal is too diferent doesn’t fell right. I think that this would give little interest to the audience, specially when they don’t sing (the main attractive of idol anime). And if they want idol anime, there’s Aikatsu and Pripara. And if they want to see idol elements in idol anime there’s Pretty Cure (who actually shares a similar market compared to idol anime).
The ratings aren’t too great, so they’re probably trying to boost it with the idol elements– besides, I don’t know, I think the dancing and outfits are cute and charming enough on their own? It’d be even better if they actually got to sing, but this is fine!
Idol elements in an idol anime is part of the package, adding it to a show otherwise about action/adventure/friendship gives it a nice bit of variety. Really, it’s just different enough from Pokemon Coordinating, which I remember some people complaining about it feeling too shoujo with the ShuHaru/Contestshipping romantic subplot, but honestly, it fit right in.
Well, idols have been present since a long time(Marina from Crystal special, idols from Pokémon Diamond), but more importantly, idol culture is the current zeitgeist, or focus, of Japanese popular culture. So, until that ends, we can expect an increase of idol features in the franchise in general.
Same goes for moe culture.
As for Akemi Omode herself, she is currently the only female writer in the series, as Aya Matsui left in D/P. So, in the same vein to her, she is kinda the only writer qualified enough to writer her as… a girl.
But no, other writers have written Serena episodes:

But as a general rule of thumb, Serena is Omode’s character, much like have Matsui and Tomioka constructed the bulk of May’s Contest arc, or Tomioka built Dawn’s contest arc.
I believe that Serena's goal is being a performer because the writers didn't know what to do with Serena. Also, it's being made obvious that Amourshipping was created by Omode and I'll say that her goal is also created by Omode. I think it wasn't a good idea. Serena's goal separates her with the rest of the main cast. And is causing that the few moments that Serena battle the battles are interrupted. Why? Because she isn't battlibg outside select circunstances. Does mean that I prefer the previous situation? NO. Serena's goal may be dissapointing but is better than doing nothing in the cast.
Akemi Omode.

The merchandiae with Greninja, unlike other merch, gives info for the anime because it includes many cast Pokemon and some that it doesn't make sense to appear if they're unrelated. About Chwapin, the thing is that the VA sheet included both Chespin (with his usual seiyuu) and Quillladin. Why? We'll see.
