His other arm was used to hold Anthony, who was well behaved, but was afraid he’d end up losing him. “Quentin, stay ahead of me buddy, I want my eyes on, okay?” he asked him. Quentin quickly shuffled forward as they walked across the campus. His plan was to head to the large space where the event was being held. But he needed the two girls to burn off some energy first. Which meant Noelle could go and mingle with some of her old friends, alone for a while. “If you guys don’t calm down, I’m going to have to leave you with Aunt Vi. I don’t think you want that,” he threatened. He wasn’t sure how effective it was. Violet cared for his and Noelle’s children as if they were her own. But even she had a breaking point, and he knew how angry she could get when she got there, having experienced it himself. As the two girls turned a corner, he could feel them run into something, or someone. “What happened?!” he called out to them as he hurried up from behind.
