🌚STRAWBERRY MOON ~ FULL MOON🌚 The full strawberry moon will peak at 12:53 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, on the East coast of the United States and at 9:53 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, on the West coast. In New York City, the near-full moon will start to rise at 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday and the totally full moon will begin rising at 8:54 p.m. on Thursday. Look for it in the east-northeast section of the sky as the sun is setting in the western sky. (The sun sets at 8:31 p.m. in New York City both Wednesday and Thursday.) ------------------------- WHY IT IS CALLED THE STRAWBERRY MOON??? This nickname has nothing to do with the color of the full June moon. The name refers to the sweet summer fruit simply because June was the prime month for strawberries to be harvested when Native American tribes came up with nicknames for each full moon. #StrawberryMoon #FullMoon #FullJuneMoon #JuneMoon #ILoveTheMoon
