Full Moon Party Madness

Today we left Koh Phangan and are now on our way to Railay (Jurassic Park was filmed there!). The days in Koh Phangan were the biggest parties I have even witnessed or imagined. Not only did we go to the full moon party, ever single night was a party! From foam parties, to beach parties we definitely didn't do out livers any favours! The full moon party was crazier than I could have ever imagined. I had watched videos and read blogs about the legendary party but they didnt do it justice. We started doing body paint at around 9:00pm. I painted my friend Jenay with full neon cheetah print and I was head to toe covered in vines and flowers. We started drinking slowly at around 10:00pm and got to the beach at midnight. Thousands of painted people were packed down the enormous stretch of beach. The beach was lined with bars selling buckets and that was the first stop. We conga lined with our group to the bar, all got buckets and started dancing like it was the last thing we would do. We danced like crazy, jumping and singing along to the music pouring from the bars all night long. We only stopped to get new buckets and once to sit and refuel with some food (I had a small power nap on someone's shoulder in the restaurant shhhh!!). At 6:00am we rounded up the group to watch the sunrise (not everyone made it!). It was so cool to see so many people all watching the sun slowly light up our beach dance floor. Most of our group admitted defeat at that point and headed off to bed but about ten of us continued to drink and dance our buts off until 9:00am! We all have some crazy, funny, and once in a lifetime stories. Everyone should experience the craziness that is the original full moon party of Koh Phangan! After spending a week partying I'm very excited to get to Railay for some well earned relaxation!
