The Dwan Gallery was a seminal contemporary art gallery in the 1960s. With galleries both in L.A. and NYC, Virginia Dwan represented artists such as Larry Rivers, James Rosenquist, and Yves Klein. The Dwan Gallery was closely associated with the Earthworks and Land Art movement, and Dwan was the principal financer for Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty. We are delighted to announce that our Dwan Gallery records have been fully digitized and are now available online!

Meet our newest fully digitized collection: the Anna Coleman Ladd papers. Ladd was a sculptor who took up the cause of soldiers disfigured by battle in WWI by founding the Red Cross Studio for Portrait Masks in Paris. Highlights include her Red Cross files, the manuscript for her novel about a half-knight/half-jester named Hieronymus, and her drawings.
