Soooo Flobots came to my hometown last night. Along with a bad ass band called Bang Data.
Yesterday was the best concert experience i have had so far. Got to see eyes set to kill at the Fulton 55 venue in fresno. It was sooo much fun. Went with two of my coworkers that i now consider friends instead of just coworkers. There was a lot of bands i hadn't really heard of but i had good vibes to them, so i will be getting their music to help support them
“Sure Thing.” It’s a sentence.
A four hour work day and four shot americano allowed me to attend a show in Fresno California thursday night and catch a great line up at Fulton 55: Book Titles, Sure Thing., Valkyrie, and Anchor City. My inner introvert was hoping for a night off but then again it is always asking for a night off, and often wins. I am grateful I got out tonight though for I would have not discovered these energetic local bands who did a hell of a job opening up the stage for Anchor City.
“Sure Thing.” is a fresh band newly formed. Thursday was technically their first official show and I would never have guessed it. Featuring a front man, Joe who put out a groovy west coast tone with a beautiful candy apple red Fender, you may be led to misconceptions about the band being “typical” until after the intro drops. Right away the sound takes a sharp left into an energetic, move-it feeling saying “lets rock!” with hypnotic rhythm and punkish rebelled toned vocal lyrics. Other than Joe, on lead vocals and guitar the band was driven by some strong bass by Shane, who also graced the crowd with is vocals and a drummer by the name of Jake who pulled the crowd into his part of the stage by displaying passion for his craft.
This again was the first official show the band played and I am glad I was there to witness it. Exciting the crowd with much ease and from the hip of their instruments, I am anticipating seeing and/or hearing from this band again.
