Those of you who know me, know that I'm not in the habit of asking for money for myself, friends, or family. In this case, the circumstances are very serious. Kaitlyn is the 15 year old daughter of Vicki, a long time friend of me, and my sisters. She has fumarase deficiency, a rare condition that effects the nervous system, especially the brain. She can't walk, or speak, but her smile speaks volumes. Everyone who meets her is charmed by her sweetness. She's a fighter; she suffers from terrible seizures, bowel disorders, is in constant pain, and recently had surgery to fix a perforated bowel. She was just sent back to the hospital again, and will, unfortunately, be facing a very long stay. Her mom is a beautiful woman with a heart of gold, and a spine of steel. She's a single parent, and the care involved for 'Miss K' is dauntibg, to say the least. She does the work of ten full time nurses, and without a word of complaint. She is Miss K's advocate, her voice, and will not leave her daughter's side while under care. Please, whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated.
