Fupsin around in Bugsnax after 100% the game
So after I beat Bugsnax and got the platinum trophy I decided to fup around trying to get out of bounds in all the areas. Succeeded in every location but Frosted Peak (since it doesn’t really have an out of bounds- more a JUMP TO YOUR DOOM), Simmering Springs, and Sizzlin’ Sands. Sizzlin’ Sands is interesting because try as I might I could NOT get past the area that would lead beyond towards Frosted Peak. I was trying to see if you could see the mainland from there. Since you can’t really see the horizon on that side from anywhere else. The snow is too thick on Frosted Peak so you can’t look around up there. Considering the ending’s placement the mainland is within viewing distance of the island!
My main goal was originally just going out of bounds around Sugarpine Woods, Frosted Peak, and the area around Garden Grove and Flavor Falls. Why? Because if you look at the mountainside between those four locations you can clearly see a cave entrance. Right around the bottom of the snowline. What is that? A proper entrance into the inner sanctum? If it’s where you get tossed out from the final area the game didn’t really explain that well. Of course I couldn’t reach it in all the areas. There’s no real ground to stand on a bit away from the main area so you fall through into the void and wind up at the areas’ entrances. If the death plane wasn’t there on Frosted Peak I might be able to make it down there since jumping off above it seems like it’s really not that difficult- its a smaller drop than quite a few others on the mountain! And then there’s the mystery of “The Triplicate Space” you get by going out of bounds near the ship Floofty was hanging out in at the boiling bay.
Though when I got back from my mountain fupsing I noticed Filbo didn’t have any of his bugsnax bits on him anymore. When I’d gone up there he did. Do the bits randomly go away naturally or did Filbo decide to find a bug that isn’t snax related? If he did I hope he shares it with Gramble I hated feeding him in his sleep...
