Sam, standing in front of Charlie and Dean by the tv: alright guys, listen up! Reasons why we should all hate Captain America!
Charlie: what kind of presentation is this
Dean: I don't know...but I'm kinda intrigued?
Sam: guys. Shush. Alright! Reason 1: he does drugs.
Dean: *cracks up*
Sam: reasom number 2!! He loves the USA.
Charlie, nodding: you has a point there
Sam: i know. Alright last reason! He makes everything about him
Charlie: omg he does
Dean: *laughing*
Sam: and those are my reasons for hating Captain America. The one and only good thing I will accept about him is that Chris Evans is hot and I would date him in a heartbeat.
Dean: hey!
Charlie, almost crying bc she's laughing so hard: he does have America's ass!!
Canada: Don't be a dick.
Australia: Just use it properly ;P
USA: Nice one
Awesome story I wanna share that happened on my third day at my new job
I work in fast food, that’s the first detail. It isn’t easy but sometimes there are good moments
Anyway about halfway through my shift, as it slowed down, we meet this sweet African American lady (maybe 40s/50s, we’ll call her S) and she’s looking gorgeous. A cute dress, amazing nails and jewelry, hair on point. Me and a male coworker are complimenting her like crazy on how she looks as I finish getting her order. S is so happy and bubbly about the compliments that she tips us both with a big smile and tells us the style of her nails and everything. We get into this great conversation about how she’s all dressed up for a Great Gatsby party and on her way to get her mother’s (or grandmother’s, I forget) old fashion long black cigarette. Greatest chat I’ve had so far. Before she leaves, S tells me she’d been having a rough day and talking to us really lifted her spirits. I felt so happy to hear that and it made the day so much nicer.
It doesn’t take much to try, even if it’s a little thing, to make someone’s day. I enjoy little chats like this with customers if I get the chance. S was a sweetheart and I hope I see her again soon
Me walking into my match class: Guys I brought cookies!
Boy who sits next to me: Allie why are you always so fricking nice? Bringing in baked goods, carrying around bandaids, buying lunch for anyone who needs it, helping with homework? I find it insanely hard to believe there is no ulterior motive
Me leaning in and whispering real low: being nice is like fucking crack to me
Shared interests and pleasant chats with strangers.
So here I am, sitting down with a friend at lunch and he takes notice of the book I have with me. The book in question being Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett (which is so far very enjoyable). Then suddenly a complete stranger begins talking about Discworld to me from the table over...completely don’t realize I don’t actually know this person (it’s entirely possible for them to be a former classmate that I forget) and start talking about Discworld. All in all it was a rather nice chat. Soon after, while I’m walking back from class, a person walking next to me is whistling something. I ask if they happen to be whistling Whiskey in the Jar...and they indeed are Whistling that. So a short conversation on folk music begins, I was recognized as ‘the guy who sang Whiskey in the Jar at Karaoke’ (good times) and was complimented for that. At some point I recommended they listen to the group Silly Wizard because Andy M Stewart (RIP) has one of the best voices I’ve ever heard. Names were exchanged and apparently their name was Aven. I mention this only because is a surprising act of restraint I did not immediately recommend CotIG Here there Be Dragons. Also, I highly recommend everyone listen to Silly Wizard. They’re awesome if mostly dead :( Anywho, there’s a nice bit of pleasantness. On top of seeing like four friends on the first day back (everyone is just so busy with college. So tedious at times). So even more pleasantness. Really today has just been pleasant. Make of that what you will. Al, the Chronographing Cottager.
