been dying to ask since i saw it mentioned, but what situation would cause Birdie to get threatened and Solis to find out? Is Birdie disliked by others? And what... would Solis do?

As Greywood’s (yay canon town) one and only apothecary, Birdie is a respected individual. In the 17th century it takes around 7 years to become an apothecary, and Birdie started at a relativley young age. Honestly, its rather odd that someone with such a formal education would set up shop in a not-so-bustling place. But the townspeople are greatful nonetheless! Unless its the occassional drunkard, Birdie has little to no issues. Nonetheless, they keep a firearm in their shop for their own protection.
That doesnt mean that trouble never shows up. When Calypso arrives he brings with him a trail of unsavory individuals. There are also people who are hunting Solis and Lunar for their existence (“monster hunters”). If they decide to show up when Solis is the only person there to protect Birdie—or outright targets them—well…
…thats their funeral. Solis is very territorial about not only the cabin/farm, but the few people he can trust. He wont let some brazen mercanary take what little he has.
