I’m really happy for Fromis 9
They were formed from a show where the whole point was to teach them to be idols as if it was a school, and their first two songs had them literally in school uniforms lol. A lot of the comments on those videos were about how they’re all very pretty, but that it was hard to tell them apart when they’re all in uniforms like that. Now, I love those songs, but it was nice to see that in DKDK they weren’t in uniforms anymore. Then with Love Bomb, they were even more distinct, with many of them having dyed hair and such too, as well as unique styles.
But never have they been able to showcase their personalities as much as in Fun. Nagyung the pink-haired white-dressed pretty girl, Gyuri the concert violinist, Hayoung the conductor/composer, Seoyeon the rap-boxer, Saerom the athlete, Jisun the model, Jiwon the innocent singer... i wish there were separate scenes for Jiheon and Chaeyoung but look at them goofing off and having fun lol. I don’t know everything about every member, but from what I do know, seeing Gyuri, Hayoung, and Seoyeon especially in those scenes is just so perfect for their personalities and interests.
I thought this video’s concept was just about like sort-of-parodying commercials, and it still is, but it actually goes with the song really well because each of them is portrayed just doing whatever they think is fun. These screenshots arent the only scenes theyre in obviously, there’s probably more that I missed that contributes to that concept. The commercial aspect is just a way to realize that on-screen and make it be cohesive I suppose. The whole POINT of the video is to show how each of them is unique and to show what they like and what theyre passionate about. Even when they are all in similarly-themed costumes for the chorus and such, their outfits are all personalized to them. It’s a nice touch!
This is what it looks like when a company cares a lot about its members. They must’ve realized back during the school uniform days that they had something really special here, and they just let them shine more and more with each comeback :)
