What is your favorite line or moment in both BB1 and BB2?
OH SHIT. Okay. Tough question.
My favorite line in BB1 for literally no fucking reason because it’s the stupidest fucking line but it makes me laugh every time is in one of the first chapters, when Blake makes them run the mile and Faith asks Kacey, “Why is Scottie dressed like it’s 1979?” Don’t ask me why. It’s literally so stupid lmao
My favorite moment of that book is really random as well but I think it’s Kacey’s Skype call with her mother and the narrative surrounding it. I think that was one of the better passages (in terms of my writing) and that it tells you A LOT about Kacey. I don’t know. I just remember being really struck by that when I read it back. It’s sad and nostalgic and it’s happening on Christmas/Kacey’s birthday with Bailey eavesdropping.
BB2 is harder. I have many favorite moments because I am an EGO MANIAC in the worst way with this book. I really, really like Kacey being woken up in the middle of the night to go to London and not even fucking questioning it. I like that because it shows how much she trusts Blake and how much Blake NEEDS her. That, to me, is when we start to see the power shift and we see that this hero-worship/dependency thing is actually a two-way street. I also really like Lexie standing up to Sabrina and telling her to fuck off. And I also really fucking like Violet talking to Kacey before they go to the club in Alaska and giving her the ego boost she ultimately uses to get with Conor?
My favorite line might be (another really fucking stupid one) when Blake asks Kacey to take the team shopping for Alaska gear and says, “You’re the only person on the team who’s ever gone camping on purpose.”
Answering this question has brought to light once again that I have no idea what I’m doing and need some sort of writing chaperone lmao
