just some Elf hc things:

- Elves are born with pointed ears that are more rounded ar the tip like a dear or a bears so not "reaching their peak" means something completely different to elves.

- The also say "You've scarsly grown into you're locs!" refering to yoinger elves having shorter hair than their elders. It's common for for elves with faster growing hair to be more mature because they have been treated as such.

- 100y/o is roughly equivalent to 16y/o imh and 600 is more like 18.

- Elves post the first age are taught the silmarillion, or sections of it based on class, to teach mesured emotions. Elves feel deeply and this kids is what happens when you don't composed yourself. Hence why theres this whole holyer than thou stoicism amongst elves because the alternative makes you Fëanorian and Fëanorian's were kin slayers. Thingol was a martyr, and Fëanor was a witch. This doesn't include the house of Fingolfin who are also concidered saint and martyrs.

- The silmarillion is of the first things elvish children learn. And are taught it before archery and alongside music. Modern day au where you have to take a pop quiz on the members of the house of Finwé (the horror).

okay hear me out......... Oldest House holiday office parties

like, im not sure how exactly parties in the oldest house would look but i’m sure they’d be quirky and delightful and the stories would be excellent (and you HAVE to consider what on earth parties with Darling would look like)

but consider also: 

jesse (and if you’re in the Mood for some au/canon bending, let’s say dylan’s awake) likes s more private/close friends setting so it’s them, langston, arish, and emily all out for drinks in a quiet, mostly private booth or a small private party room in some restaurant 

raya gets invited and she shows up for the earlier part of it but politely ducks out early because the others stay out so late

langston brings cookies that he baked with his neighbor and despite it being a casual event is still in a tie

emily brings a polaroid camera and is probably wearing cute, holiday appropriate earrings

arish is an Endless Supply of funny stories

jesse gets a chance to just Unwind and relax with her friends

dylan somehow Always Knows when there’s a camera pointed at him and jokingly looks directly at it with a deadpan expression

arish keeps trying to see if he can get a picture without dylan noticing but even when he’s looking away dylan just “arish.” 

as the night goes on the photos of him are just him trying very very very hard to not smile

jesse 🤝dylan feeling awkward getting their photo taken but take a+ selfies and candids regardless

if it’s halloween there’s varying degrees of costume from casual but recognizable (arish), wearing a witch hat (emily), “i kinda was regretting wearing my costume but now im actually enjoying it” (jesse), obscure sci-fi character (langston), and “oh were we wearing costumes, i totally forgot, how sad, oh well” (dylan)

if it’s christmas legally they have to have those paper crowns you get out of christmas crackers
