Brendan Maclean’s fantastic EP “funbang1” has been at the top of the Australian charts for yonks now, and the rest of the world is starting to take notice. The songs are all varied in approach, but so catchy and infectious, they seem held aloft by a bubbling effervescence. These tracks get stuck in your head for days and days.
Standout “Free To Love” exemplifies the bright, catchy pop sensibility of Maclean’s music. It’s just so damn charming, I think it could elicit a foot tap or head nod from even the most ill-tempered curmudgeon. There’s also a great video for the track, complete with quirky dance moves and flying(!), all while dressed in black tie.
