#Repost @knockoutlights ・・・ One of the most common criticisms I get is for taking my eyes off the threat when performing certain complex weapon manipulation. Before I respond to these people, I usually have to take a deep breath lol. This is another institutionalized concept that everyone’s bought off on but I watch it fail over and over again. Sure, if you spend hundreds of hours every month training unsighted manipulations you may have a shot at it but is this really practical for most folks? Train to be effective and understand that fighting is seldom static. I’ve now included my patterns to my silhouettes! I think some work and some need working on, I think the brick wall is out of place because most of the backgrounds are light blue, so it looks out of place! I might have a go at doing blue brick walls and see what happens!

My tutor and i discussed that we think my story is based in 1920, so i wanted to look for patterns in that era. I looked at two books “Army and Navy - London S.W.” and “Studios in Design - Chr. Dresser”. They both had amazing patterns which inspired me to do some of my own.

I decided that I wanted to do something similar to silhouettes because thats how stories in Asia were traditionally shown, through shadows. I decided to use black card and cut away what I didn’t need. So far I think it looks effective and can use some of the scenes more than once. The next step is adding backgrounds which i’m considering using patterns or wallpaper. I want to do my characters in a separate colour of card and the same with any props.
