Fungurary Week 1: Autumn Skullcap

I played around with a few ideas but ended up thinking how unsettling it would be for a parasitic fungus to slowly climb its way up to the food chain to human, starting with rats and squirrels, then cats and dogs, slowly, a threat you can see clear as day, and do nothing to stop, as it works its way up to you.

……what was that itch in the back of your throat
