Was going to do an informal artist interview on someone's blog, had completed the interview and it seemed fine, but then they said they didn't want to use my name Funk God because it was unprofessional. I told them that this is my artists name and I use it for all creative works and I don't want to use my real name. They continued to argue with me until I told them to cancel the interview and delete the post. If they don't respect my name, which encompasses everything I hold dear; music, art, writing, etc. then they shouldn't be interviewing me. I'm not sure you would tell Lady Gaga to use her name Stephanie, although I'm sure many have. Then she tells them she prefers her artist/stage name and they comply, because they are being professional. But this person would not, not even for a simple blog post. So fuck em, Funk God doesn't fuck around, only funks around! It was a weird experience. If the interview had been for any sort of real organization which meant something, I would have kept arguing and not just shut it down. But this was supposed to be for fun, so I told her to just leave it be and not do it. Plus, Funk God is just a badass name, and anyone who doesn't appreciate it can stay far away ✨😎✨
