When you read a report by a German merchant captain (late 18th century) and he proudly tells you in Low German that he ate a Plüschappel (plush apple) for the first time and I ask myself what the heck is a Plüschappel ? - Now I know, he means a peach.

While doing research, I discovered some interesting historical church documents (in German). They had weird problems in 1537... (Rough translation: “Ban on dogs being loose in the church during service”) Because the first decree apparently didn’t solve the problem, they had to up their game in 1543. (”Punishment for dogs being loose in the church during service”)
