speaking of corrupted batteries - when i was taking out this 2005 baby's batteries, one of them fully exploded + corroded so badly that
1. it's pratically cemented in the slot - i can kind of wiggle it but thats about it (another battery in this same furby was about half as bad and took a fair amount of effort to get out so i have no idea how the hard removal of this one will be)
2. the entire bottom of the battery seems to be gone??? or sunken in like the total battery is shorter or something (pictures have a non-corroded battery facing the same direction to compare with) - it's a solid few mm shorter than the other batteries when they were still in place
3. it's a bit more liquid than solid - any attempts to shimmy it out with a flathead or grab it with pliers just pokes hard into the metal like it's been softened / pulls small pieces off :(
because it's not sideways like 98 battery compartments i'm not sure how to get this out safely without further leaking / damage / etc. + if there's any extra precautions / cleaning i should do beyond trying to clean up the corrosion with baking soda n whatnot
anyone have any advice / experience with something like this?? <:Uc
