Teeth
How equal can a society be if some fundamentals are unusable by a third of the population? You can learn a lot about a world by looking at the little details, especially in furry settings!
Cover those dogs
thinking about the type of stuff my fursona would have to wear in the lab. ppe doesn't seem to be made to fit bird's skulls surprisingly. i have more thoughts but its late and im lazy.
I really like thinking about how different various forms of media would look in an anthro world full of diverse species.
Rhythm games made by and for arachnids and other creatures with a lot of limbs, far more intensive than the standard - these would often have, sometimes post-launch, a mode for 'normal' species, but some particularly skilled streamers, content creators etc. stay on the arachnid mode just to flex.
(Imagine a centipede absolutely tearing up a really long dance pad and the sheer amount of arrows on the game screen...)
An underground community of Bats and other sensitive-hearing animals, who share music designed to only be heard by those with the right ears. Frequencies most can't comprehend. The community is pretty big, so you have to take their word for it that its good music, right? It's not just a collective ongoing prank, is it?
Movies made by species with worse/different color vision, criticized and beloved for weird palettes, lighting, and other things. Sometimes the colors were deeply considered and intentional, other times it's just how the director normally sees the world anyway.
It'd probably be customary to have some sort of indicator of a person's species next to their name in credits and such, for representation, and to appreciate when a species with unique abilities or challenges partakes in a production. I'm imagining cute little doodled symbols next to names on scrolling movie credits.
Archival and record-keeping becomes even more important when your population's lifespan is so varied (though I imagine 'around human lifespan' to be the default for an anthro world) and there's more diverse perceptions, abilities, etcetera. Additionally important if hibernation carries over into this world - if someone was missing out on all but minimal activity for a huge chunk of the year, it'd definitely become important for them to be able to quickly catch up in the Spring. Podcasts and really long video essays would probably be a hit with hibernators, too.
[image ID: images and notes about headphones designed for furry heads.
the ear pieces have the speaker set into a curved projection, which itself sits on a larger, round base. notes read, "since most mammalian ears are large and mobile, furry headphones can't press the ears back against the skull. thus, most mammal-designed ear pieces push the speaker inside the ear canal, and try to dampen environmental sound by molding to the shape of the ear canal. headphones must cater to specific species, but standard ear buds can fit a wide range of ear canals. ear buds are more popular than headphones for this reason, but some furries prefer sturdier, sound-dampening headphones."
a wolf wears a set of "wide-base" headphones, where the ear pieces sit individually inside each ear, and are held in place by a wide hook that loops around the top edge of each ear. an optional, detachable cable connects between the hooks, at the top of the head. a gazelle wears a set of "thin-base" headphones, where each ear piece is individually latched to an ear by either hinged pincers or an elastic strap. notes reflect this information.

I got so mad seeing shitty furry headphones, I went ahead and designed my own. more notes under the cut:
a specbio thought:
bicycles
not literally bicycles, but, like, if your species isn't great at being fast for long distances, what's a mechanical solution they may develop? would they develop something akin to a bicycle at all? or no?
i appreciate how scifi/fantasy/furry/specbio/etc worldbuilders task themselves with re-inventing everyday objects for use by non-human sentient species. they go into tons of detail figuring out what exactly a bug alien might use as an eating utensil, or how a bipedal rabbit would wear a hat, or what a living flame could use for transportation.
when they're redesigning human objects for their species in a human parallel world, they're often focused on comfort and ease of use. "even though my species *could* use this the same as humans, it wouldn't be very convenient for them. here's a more ergonomic version perfectly designed for their anatomy."
and well, i find this funny because a lot of human shit is also poorly designed for human anatomy.
