“I’m fine. Caring for someone...isn’t based on logic. You can’t really rationalize emotions. Once I think ‘I like him’ it’s all over.”
To feel that way about someone… with such conviction…it makes me jealous. Because...it seems like he knows exactly where she stands. Shes not lost like I am right now. She just...with all her heart... - Kagura Sohma, Volume 12, Ch.69
"Maybe you need...a hand to reach out to you.
Like me.
Someone did that...for me.”
Everyone has pressures in their lives. All kinds of pressures. And we just have to learn to deal with them.
Yuki Sohma, Fruits Basket Volume 4
That day... when I pulled my beads apart... I watched quietly.. as Tohru picked them all up. It was proof that I was a monster. Even now, I wouldn't mind if she threw them into a fire. But after a few years.. maybe I'd grow to regret not having picked them up. I honestly thought that at the time. But I still couldn't move. She picked them up for me. And it was like she was protecting... both the me of now and the me of the future. Or even... something more distant. Something beyond me. Maybe she was trying to pick up the far off feelings.. of all those people who lived with those beads on. Every last one. I don't really know. But I do know one thing. I know.. that "loving" someone.. isn't just always loving what's right in front of you. There's also the past... and the future. Loving someone means embracing it all.

«To us, your existence was... "kindness".» -Yuki, Fruits Basket
