Hello Beautiful, Beautiful Dexter's Lab Tumblr Community!

Today i come to you with my boy, brief au Intro summary below 💫

*if you dont want spoilers and wanna see it unfold in real time (i cant promise that wont take less than a few months though) as i do plan to write a story about it at some point then just skip /nm /nf

“Ego Death”

Bare bones early plot:

The Dexters lose in the battle against the Mandarks, the time machine gets destroyed, Dexter is trapped in a seperate time loop within the current one that lasts several months at a time/ resets at complete random where he has to watch himself(-ves?) die over and over again until he, by himself, can get it right.

The mandarks allow our Dexter to live on the condition he go back in time to work under him from the very beginning, giving him a second chance on the day they first met, even offering the use of their time machine, using this small act of mercy dexter takes the chance to run away and hide, where he is forced to stay for several months as he is now wanted by everyone and everything in the dystopian wasteland.

Dexter ends up back in his now very desolate and destroyed lab, making it his goal to repair it to the best of his abilities over the course of (however long he is there for, no spoilers) so he can properly defeat the mandarks with his own 2 hands.

Dexter spends most of his time before the resets gathering materials, scavenging from abandoned rubble and tinkering away whilst skillfully avoiding mandark’s security bots, he quickly figured out that whilst he goes back in time, things appeared to be wherever he left them, which he assumed was one of many technical malfunctions caused by the nature of the tool used for it's destruction and it's ability to harness the pure negative energy of the neurotomic protocore.

The actual story is going to be significantly more in depth and angsty i promise, i just needed something to give this picture even the tiniest bit of context.
