Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 2 tablespoons brown sugar. 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional. 4 hamburger buns. Lettuce leaves, for serving. Sliced tomato, for serving. Sliced red onion, for serving. Mayonnaise, for serving. Sriracha sauce, for serving. Vegetable oil, for grilling.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, grated ginger, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Mix until well combined. Shape the beef mixture into 4 burger patties and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill. To assemble the burgers, spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the mayo, followed by a burger patty. Top each patty with sliced tomato and red onion. Drizzle with Sriracha sauce for a spicy kick if desired. Finish by placing the top half of the bun on the burger, and serve hot.
