even though eyes remain clean from exchange; even though body consistently remained hidden from view, there was still an energetic hopelessness about him. deep blood drips from his skull endlessly. it billows with each motion of the head. whether brief or exaggerated, he stunk of iron. how his body kept pouring and pouring and pouring, nobody knew. he ate, he slept, he even had a bathroom connected to this jail cell, but he didn't feel human. he bled. he ate. he bathed. but was he human?
all he felt was grief.

as her card laid out a seven, out also came the thorned man's. it was an ace. as it turned, body leaned forward to get a better look. head curls inward, and as position fastens, a drop of red lands directly on the A in the corner. though the liquid was confident in its maroon tones, there was an underlying goo to it. a black ink that seemed to want to outshine the human nature of the splatter that started to stain the card.
eyes ascend to look straight at her. she refuses to look. nobody looks. they can't. they can't survive looking at him. they only feel disdain. a hatred toward the world that seemed to seep out of every inch of his body and stain the very souls of those whose unfortunate eyes land on his form. though relieved addy resisted the urge, it still felt lonesome. a heavy sigh.
she spoke. was he human? a blink. more blood spills from his wounds. the stench of iron was proof that his human nature had a relevant foundation: his grumbling stomach that feasted daily; the aching desire to sleep away the endless pain. he was human, wasn't he?
