After Season 2 of TETOCU, I made a future version of my OC Jade, and hoo boy, is her backstory a bit twisted. SPOILERS AHEAD!

It hadn’t taken long for Jade to figure out what happened to George, Harold, and CU. She confronted Melvin for what he had done, and he basically showed no remorse as he told her it was her word against his. No one would believe a stupid little girl like her.
It was at that moment that their friendship was as good as dead.
Sawyer was definitely worried after the boys and Krupp inexplicably disappeared (in this timeline, she hadn’t discovered the truth about CU), but refused to believe Melvin had anything to do with it. Sure, he was a brat, but he wasn’t an outright sociopath! George and Harold’s disappearances had clearly upset Jade, and Krupp vanishing shortly afterward made matters worse, but watching her daughter sink deeper and deeper into dark obsession over Melvin only made her concern grow.
It was Sawyer signing Jade up for therapy that made the girl finally snap. She ran away from home that night. As far was concerned, Melvin had turned her own family against her! Well she didn’t need them. She didn’t need anyone! She was gonna expose the truth herself.
The following decades, Jade sunk deeper and deeper into madness. One of her attempts to expose Melvin for the murderer he was resulted in a fight that ultimately left her right arm utterly mangled by one of his inventions. But of course, karma struck him hard in the form of a car accident that left the right side of his body torn to shreds. It was a miracle he survived. She was sorry it didn’t kill him. The accident left Melvin a cyborg now, a reflection of the monster he really was.
And when Jade discovered he was going back to their past, she knew it wasn’t for anything good. It was thanks to President Erica Wang that Jade was able to follow him.
She applied at Jerome Horwitz Elementary for a job under the name “Deja”, and it took every ounce of will power she had not to hug Krupp after he hired her as groundskeeper. And she hid her tears after she saw her past self... with George and Harold, looking exactly as she remembered them.
Then when Melvinborg took over the school, she watched everything play out. And when the Tattle Trials were set up, she hid inside the dome as she began to put her own plans into action.
You see, she didn’t tell Erica what she had planned.
She knew what Melvin was going to do to the boys, and she’ll be damned before she lets it happen again. And she didn’t care if what she did altered the timeline and erased her from existence. She had nothing left to lose. He had already taken everything from her.
She was gonna set things right this time...
She was gonna keep George, Harold, and Cap safe...
Even if it meant... “getting rid of” the past self of the man she once called her best friend.
Because people like Melvin? They never change.
The world will be a much better place without him.
