this song is so damon/datherine coded. every time I listen to it and I think of damon and his relationship with katherine.

Him knowing she was with stefan and trying to (unsuccessfully) ignore it with the hope and belief that she did/would choose him. his complete devotion to her to the point that she didn't have to compel him to forget her vampirism, going on a hunt with her and tasting human blood before he'd ever been turned. him wanting to become a vampire just to be with her and then doing everything he could to get her back. being willing to forgive her century long deception if it meant that she still loved and would choose him. And of course, katherine never choosing him over stefan or loving him to the extent that he loved her. just good shit.
