It’s about time we start to reinvent the ways we build our home. In fact we need to redefine ‘home’ before we begin. Our homes have now become our Offices, our homes are now producing food, they are producing electricity, storing vast quantities of rain water etc...
The Future holds many challenges but I suspect that the homes we know will become more of an independent unit like a farm stead. That is for homes which have more land area but the dense Urban cities will also undergo several changes and will have a reconfigurable space which will have more value.
There will be a lot of emphasis on Independence integrated with interdependence. By this I mean, what we can do by our own homes will be considered standard and all others will be integrated more efficiently.
