Year 3013
Anybody who is living in the year 2013 is a pretty lucky person. That fact that we get to live on Earth during this period of time and understand so much about the world is astounding. If we were to backtrack just one hundred years or so, our modern ways would be unimaginable. I doubt we would even worry about innovations in musical and electronic instruments like we do today. The idea of the DJ in the classical sense would not have existed, nor would anybody care. In the same sense, it would be hard to imagine production and DJ technology a thousand years from now. [embed width="656"]http://youtu.be/aJ428HrhqSE[/embed] As far as our advancements go today – we have tapped into the power of computing which has gotten to the point where we can bridge the gap between man and machine. Midi controllers and DVS have added the human element to computerized music – and did so within only a few decades. Newer instruments have even expanded on that idea by altering the form of these devices to match our natural movements. But in 1000 years, these innovations will no longer be revolutionary. Perhaps computers will be embedded within our bodies and control over an instrument will only require a thought, instead of a gesture. All I know is, I won’t be around to see. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2012/12/23/year-3013/
