As of today, at 8am, when I go put a little envelope in my professor's mail box, I will be dropping out of college- having completed one year!
I don't think my new reality has hit me yet, but I'm looking forward to that moment... Not that going back to school is out of the cards for my future (nothing ever really is), but the thing I have found a passion for does not require the form of education i hate the most (nothing against it! just NOT. MY. THING). I'm not at all disappointed.
Along with officially being a drop out, today I will sign the contract for the apprenticeship I'm beginning in June. I will be learning at Donnal's Hair Design, in Brentwood (right across from the container store for those that know the area). After visiting a hair school, several meetings with the man I will be studying under, prayer for a strong gut feeling, maybe a couple tears or two, extra drama about becoming famous, and wisdom from anyone able to offer it, I decided this was not only the best fit, but a golden opportunity.
I will have a full-time schedule in the salon for about a year (it all depends how fast I learn), along with a part time job... so don't hold my schedule against me please, for the next year(+)! It won't be like that forever, I'm just working on my future ;)
Thanks for reading. It's a goal of mine to start writing more! I'm not sure what that looks like quite yet.
PS- I will soon be recruiting hair models... the first three months are blow dry. You know you're tempted.
