The Genie seemed to always pop up when others were in doubt, unsure of themselves or their future or was just down on their luck. She wasn’t like her fellow genies who seem to revel in whatever torment their charges or whatever they were to them seemed to do. So appearing before Lizzie probably was a shock when she took the form of someone that the young witch knew.
“Lizzie Saltzman, must be really down in the dumps if I was drawn to you. And before you ask no I am not Hope Mikaelson, I found it best to take the form of someone you’re familiar with. Hope has no idea, well not like she could see me”
