Break up from these 3 things
*this is credit to Amy wang.*
1. Break up from your expectations
2. Break up from your social life
3. Break up with your phone.
1.) break up from your expectations
If you’re someone from a household of a family that has high expectations on you, yet want to persue something else? You can but here’s a thing.
Whatever expectations or goals that was set by your parents, your peers, or yourself are- ALL UNREALISTIC in a way that it is set without a Clear progress on how to get it.
I have 2 things to say to someone who’s young and a parent.
A.) for someone who’s young and in school:
If wanna become someone you wanted to be in your future, then set yourself up starting now and I mean RIGHT NOW!.
-make a Personal Structure that is aligned with your skill, what you feel wanna do, the career you aim for.
-make a new belief that whatever you do is apart of your process into reaching your objection. CEO framework : Cut what doesn’t serve you, Execute daily habits / task, Optimize & evaluate (Amywang.2026.)
-define how you do it or find ways to do it affectively. Like study methods that is working for you.
-set up your schedule, resources and built an affective routine that works for you.
You can DM me for full personal structure and I’ll provide the Template for personal curriculum, Syllabus, and more. All is free.
2.) this is for those who are parents:
If you have a child that you want them to follow your career suggestion of that high pay job that will able for them to take care of you then start doing these:
As a parent, you are your child’s first teachers before the teachers from the school.
-teach them basic household: how to clean, make food (that is easy and Child safety approved depending their age.) . how to organized, and give them task around the house (productive task before their free time)
-teach them how to take care of themselves, what they need not just manners but how to interact with others and make positive connections.
-teach them what not to do - but don’t scold them. The point in teaching kids of not doing bad things is teach them the consequences of their actions - teach or evaluate the flaws of their actions with a better solution that make sense for them to do instead.
-teach them the morals you want them to believe and encourage them to stand for themselves. Never take someone’s unrealistic misconception of them.
-teach them how to manage their time with school & personal time Aswell the good & bad consequences of why or how their actions can affect them benefit or lose.
-for their careers: teach them subject that align with that career. Teach and play with them in a Hobby that reflects their careers and become part of them. They’ll slowly make it their passion as they grow and
young kids love to follow their passions so as long as the job career you set align with the passion you implemented them since childhood, they’ll try to persue them.
2.) break up from peer pressure
Never EVER say what you want to be to Your classmates, colleagues, or friend group. You only tell what you wanna be to your counselor, parents, or when you sign a form school application to what career you aim for through the school.
Why?: Your peers are BAD influence to you that makes bad decisions and not taking care of themselves, doubting or compare themselves to others, and not doing anything to improve themselves - even if they did, they’d do it only to do something that they’ll waste on and regret later like the Drama queen they make their life out of. ALSO!. Sometimes when you tell random people what you’re going to be in your future they will all JUDGE with unwanted opinions. Either nice or be sarcastic like “oh you wanna be that?, I thought you’re better as a fisher” - said by one of my classmates who’s born as the combination of her mom and dad’s bad traits.
So: Don’t follow or think too much of what others think - they’re not you, they don’t know you outside of what you generally are.
Don’t give them information or facts about everything about you because they’ll try to find ways to make you look bad or ways to exclude you or discourage you so you’ll be down under their high horses of attitude - you are your own best friend, you support yourself and stand for what you belief, you know yourself better than anyone.
It’s okay to make friends - just don’t make them get in the way of your progression or import works that you have to finish. Your main priority is God, you, your family/loved ones.
Don’t be part of the group as once you become part of a group, you’re now the Follower that relays on the group for their cooperation - Be detached cuz the best thing of being detached from social society is that you can talk to any circle of friends or group without needing to be apart of them nor pressure of what they’ll think of you. You’re your own person & best friend.
It’s okay to be selfish for your own better gains in life - it’s okay to make mistakes as you’ll learn not to repeat them -
it’s okay to have doubts and not always get the results you want based off of your expectations - you have to set yourself the objections you want to achieve - the process of what you need to do to make it happens - and just do it now. Not later but JUST DO IT!.
3.) break up with your Phone
Literally - scrolling is slowly degrading your brain and lower your sense as a human that you slowly forget what you used to be good at.
Your time is your money - every time you spend affects your tomorrow.
Every video or post on social media has ties with an add revenue to get money. Your time is their currency.
On the street, you don’t always give money to the homeless but you’re all very generous in giving the time to watch strangers online for what they make and giving them your time(money) freely while you waste away degrading yourself like a casino of never ending false winnings and rigged slot machines.
If you can’t then just make sure to have just 2 hours of screen time. Yet most of the time do more task that is related to benefit you for your future or other days.
Note: Hello, Call me lian. I am a small Artist on social media. I am 2 days before I go back to school. and I’d like to share this as both a Rant and life advise. I am writing this while I feel the gaps or movement in my bones start to grow because my birthday/the day of my physical growth.
The purpose of this post are to share my words and experiences for what I wish I could have grown up to be in a better way. I am not a professional psychologist but I am qualified by my experiences to have made this as another warning and guidance for others who are struggling.
I am a minor in high school and I am going to enter senior year. Way back in middle school my parents wanted me to be a Flight operation officer without a clear mind of how the process in order to achieve that career because of they wanted me to have a high pay and honorable job. My younger self back then stated that I want to follow my dream job as an Artist and make comics but my parents only doubted me and said that’s not a real job and if I persue it I won’t survive but if I follow the job they wanted me to have I’ll be able to have a stable income stream.
So we agree that I’ll have 3 jobs: flight operation officer - freelance artist - business woman. Me and my parents have made an agreement of the objection, but not the proccess of how to make it happen. As a teen, my focus was all about the social life and not wanting be lonely that I have to find a place where I “belong” what I don’t realized I don’t need to be belong to some friend group of cheap copy cats following someone’s standards in order to have the same frequency as them, and by the end of freshman year with a new belief of detachment I was free from the stress of peer pressure.
But in second year of high school, my parent did a height check and sign me up for physical workout & swimming classes. So far it goes up and down from hard to easygoing as progress. But then once I came home for BHD, my mother told me to relax and not do them so I fall for the trap that make it harder. Even in this last 3 weeks of BHD my mom convince me to just “relax and have fun” when it is crushing.
Now. I did a big mistake of all. I failed my report because of being pressured by my mom’s expectations of me. And it was so stupid that me and my mom ended up in a meeting room with my teachers and counselor and I disrespect them all as I let my emotions takes over.
I got home with another homework assignment. My parents now doubted me. Jokes turn into “don’t you dare tell anyone just like you did to your teachers.” Family time turn to “if only you’re like your cousin/sibling/that one girl who achieve a lot of things than you”. And each time I work on my assignments to actually do it they said “You’re so stupid and slow. I could finish that in a day better than you.” All complaints, judgments. And even if I try to say a statement to them they’ll go “see that, she’s blaming her parents again” even though I WASN’T!
From this day on and this post. Is a mark of me. I no longer follow my parents nor anyone’s expectations. I’ll smile to EVERYONE WHO LOOK DOWN ON ME AND AS I DON’T CARE ANYMORE OF THEIR UNREALISTIC OPINIONS OF ME!.
They no longer defy me, they no longer matter
I DO THINGS FOR MYSELF AND HERE DARE I SAY I AM PROUD OF MYSELF THAT I TAKE THE COURAGE TO STILL BE ALIVE WITHOUT ROTTING ON MY BED THAT I HAVE MADE PROGRESS WITH MYSELF!. As long as I do. I have no shame in what i have said.
