Future-Kill (Ronald W. Moore, 1985) good and stupid. like the self-hating, mysoginist cyborg it stars, it lives an breathes as a mutant mismatch. half puerile sex comedy, half apocalyptic city night survival movie. made by bland frat boys, starring bland frat boys, defending the esteem of bland frat boys. there's an irreverence to it but it could as well be just laziness. but it wins because of how downright weird and pointless it is.

This is the only movie poster to be painted by legendary artist H.R. Giger, whose surrealist style is instantly recognizable. What makes this baffling is that Future-Kill is a profoundly lousy, cheap, and poorly-made Terminator ripoff that has justly wallowed in obscurity for decades. Who knows why on earth a master like Giger bothered to waste his time on a project this lowly; perhaps he found potential in the film’s lead villain, who resembles the figure seen here if it were much clunkier, less elegant, and profoundly silly looking.
