3. Favorite childhood game?to go back as far as I can, Super Mario Bros. 3! Some of my earliest memories are of my dad playing the first game (and a lot of Dr. Mario, that was his fav) in our new basement when we moved here, but 3 is definitely the first game that i really got to play on my own and definitely a fav out of the small handful of NES games we had
21. If you had to play one game for the rest of your life, what would it be?Oh gosh. Well, I don’t think I could choose a singular “game.” I get bored so easily and things become tedious, I don’t put much stock in “replay value.” But if I had to choose an ongoing series, i’d probably go with Tales. Those games are excellent, and each one is just different enough from its predecessor while still keeping a good battle system.
25. Proudest accomplishment in gaming?Beating Ni no Kuni comes to mind. I didn’t think that would be an accomplishment, the game is adorable and pretty easy overall. But somehow the final boss was INSANE. It’s the most stressed out i’d ever been i’d exhausted all my supplies my party kept dying I was the only one left but somehow I managed to do the finishing blow and I just remember being able to breathe afterwards and that I was shaking. It was such a close call. (and it was like a 40 minute fight i did NOT want to start over) and then there was no ending cinematic, just credits, and I felt so fucking cheated
72. Have any guilty pleasure games?Probably like, farming/town building apps and stuff I guess? Now that I have a tablet and can actually play little things like that. I don’t really feel guilty about anything though, if something’s cute and can hold my interest, so be it. :P
and okay there was this hamtaro game for gameboy that I absolutely adored.
75. Do you focus on main storyline/quest or do sidequests first?SIIIIIIDEQUESTS. Like, okay, i’ll try to keep it generally linear, do a main quest here, a couple sidequests there, back to the main plot, etc. But if we’re getting down to the end of the game it really becomes half ‘leave no stone unturned’ and half 'how long can I drag this out for I don’t wanna finish D:.’
(and it’s not like I’m the type to HAVE to have a 100% completion rate, I sort of aim for a high 90% , leaving off anything that proves too difficult with little reward. The only game i’ve ever truly “given up” on the sidequests is Final Fantasy XII, because there were just too goddamn many of them.)
