Delay number two
It took me the majority of the day to finish modeling out the skyline that appears outside the window in pages 3 and 4, as well as several future pages. I model all the backgrounds out in Sketchup because I never learned perspective, but I trace what I model in 3D really easily; I just have to model it first. I have all but one panel to finish for yesterday's page, I have the page laid out and all reference angles ready for the page that would have came out today. I guess tomorrow I'll be putting out three pages. I really didn't want to get quite as behind on this project as I have so early into it. Which is why I waited till 5am CST to say fuck it, I'll do it tomorrow. I don't want to get behind, because I want to be finished on my birthday. The entire point is defeated if I'm still working on this afterwards. I just spent the last six hours listening to angst riddled standup, so when I say the above paragraph, and I guess this one to I hear it in a snarky tone with a pause for audience laughter, which should be my first clue that it is time to go to bed. Maybe I'll get ahead and do my clean up next weekend. I only have two/three other locations to model out, not counting a cylinder shaped transportation tube that will take all of five seconds to model, or a dome small shaped room with a table in the center which will take a tiny bit longer because the is no easy way to model a sphere shape in Sketchup. Said other locations to be modeled don't even come into the story until after page 15, so I have a little while to get it done. Anyways, I'm going to bed, and Paton Oswald is funnier than should be allowed. I'm surprised I didn't wake Andy from the noises I made while attempting to suppress my giggles.
Late Page
Day 3, page 3 is delayed. The page included a new set that has a window skyline and I spent most of the night modeling weirdly shaped skyscrapers of the future to appear in said skyline and didn't actually get a chance to draw any of the panels. I could stay up and try and finish before the sun comes up, or I can wake up early and knock out three pages (today, tomorrow and Sunday). I'm going to do the later. I'm also planning on cleaning up some of the art of the first two page. Page two looks like a mess and my line weight and character designs aren't consistent. I'm going to be lame and blame the tablet and a lack of drawing from reference. Anyways, so yeah three days in and I'm already making extensions...
