I’m not going to reply to the person who just commented on one of my old disability posts, I have no desire to engage them in discourse over this. But I am really, really tired of being told that if I sounded less angry people might be more inclined to listen to me. If only I was more positive and upbeat about eugenics and the systemic abuse and neglect of disabled and chronically ill people then the healthies might deign to take pity on me and listen, when historically speaking, this is fundamentally known to be untrue. 

Like sorry if my rage over nearly being killed five times by easily avoided medical neglect and systemic ableism makes you uncomfortable. I’ll be sure to smile more the next time someone tells me people like me ought not to breed for the sake of humanity.

Respectability politics in all forms is just a way of trying to get marginalized people to ask more nicely for larger groups to stop killing them/contributing to their neglect/abuse, and is never okay. And the only thing I am and ever will be about all of this is positively furious, and you need to fucking deal with it.
