FLEA COLLAR is a new band from Cleveland featuring members of Bad Noids. It’s fucking strange in the best possible way. Check out “Land of the Free”, which opens with Thrope singing along to “Downtown” before the group flies into some wild lo-fi riffy punk. “Second Stop is Jupiter” is a great longform psychpunk jam.
If you haven’t fallen in love with DONKEY BUGS yet, are you even a tru freek?
The description on the bandcamp page says it sounds like the B52′s holding someone hostage in a grimy garage, and I can get down with that. I don’t even know if this band will ever play live again (likely not anytime soon, at least) and that bummmmms me out (tho I can live without the threat of getting drenched in milk).

PEACE TALKS - A LASTING PEACE
One of the things I really love about PEACE TALKS is how totally unpredictable they are. You have no idea when a song is going to completely break down to its component parts and come back as almost a completely different song. In the best possible way. Is it crossover, is it hardcore, is anything anything? None of the songs is much longer than two minutes (the longest song is actually the outlier here at 2:19) because they don’t need to be, the five minutes or so of this EP are quite nourishing. This EP is positively coherent belligerence. Their best yet! Listen to/buy this freakin record!
NAG - LINOLEUM GLARE
From “Dead Deer” 2020 LP. Been fortunate enough to see this band a couple times, they did a tour with cle favs RUBBERMATE a few years back. Maximal minimal art/post punk, shades of Magazine, Tuxedomoon, Gang of Four, and a wee bit of Saccharine Trust, in it’s own contemporary way. There’s a bit in here that reminds me of the trio of dreary post punk that’s been popular recently (Diat, Institute, Marbled Eye, all of whom are great), but it’s far more angular, less rigid structurally. This is one of those bands that does whatever the fuck it wants when it wants, verse-chorus-verse be damned. I could see them getting a comparison to thee mighty MINNEAPOLIS URANIUM CLUB, esp the opening track, but it’s definitely headier (yes, you read that right, smoke weed42069bongsandsuch)
VANILLA POPPERS - HOLE’S THE GOAL
One of thee best Cle punk exports of the past five years or so, all amped up rocknroll riffs and vitriol. If this song doesn’t get ya moving I don’t know if anything will!
