Oh my gosh. I wish I'd had my camera! That would have been awesome on Vine.
MY DOG CAN'T BE REAL. He is a freaking Disney character. We have a doggy door (I guess that's the problem! We call it a doggy door, and she feels insulted.). The cat knows how to use it. If we aren't in the room, she goes in and out to her heart's content. If we are, she sits just to the left of it, waiting for us to OPEN the real door for her. She will scratch the screen, meow angrily, and just... WAIT. We were ignoring her. We saw her, she was meowing, and I just kept saying, "Oh meow all you want. You can go in by yourself." But Sparks LOVES cats, especially Cali. (It is EXTREMELY unrequited on her part.) So he goes up to the door, looking at the UBER annoyed Cali, and back at my mom and I, lightly whimpering. I tell him, "I know. She wants in. But she's okay, Sparks." But my dog is too perfect. Too nice. He actually goes out the door, turns around AND HOLDS OPEN THE FLAP WITH HIS NOSE. Apparently, that works for her. She pushes past his face. He stays out, wagging his tail. He waits a bit before coming in, knowing when he follows her we tell her "leave her, Sparks. She doesn't like you. Scoot back." (A conversation we have to have several times a day, but, to his credit, he obeys immediately, walking backward more than a yard and away from the cat. But we DO have to remind him.) He backs up, sits down to wait a minute, then comes in himself, wagging and bouncing up and down with joy. My dog HELD THE DOOR FOR HIS LADY LOVE. For serious, where is this boy FROM? This perfect, wonderful, rescue dog who breezes through all service dog training like maybe he knew it before. He's my baby, my best friend, my partner, my miracle. Sparks McGee is a real live answer to prayers, a fuzzy guardian angel.
I got penelope some of her favourite hay today, some apple chew sticks, some blue cloud dust (I finally found a store that sells it) and more food.
