with her small hands tucked into the pockets of her shorts, rory finds herself walking the familiar path to the pike house. an almost unsettling feeling washes over her when she nears the house, her brows knitting together in frustration. she can’t deny the the guilt that she’s feeling since actually confessing to harlan about her previous rendezvous with hayes. though the actually guilt wasn’t particularly new for her. it was something that she had felt countless times when she was laying next to someone that wasn’t harlan, even when the pair had mutually agreed that they were fine with the open relationship situation. she was never actually able to help it but she still isn’t able to put her finger on why that was. add in the fact that it’s one of harlans brothers that she slept with ( not to mention one that he apparently hated ) and the guilt almost made rory feel sick to her stomach. she only knocks on the front door once, one of the younger members of the frat quickly coming to open the door. she never bothers with small talk anymore, just offering the other boys a smile before she makes her way up the stairs and down the hall to harlan’s bedroom. her knackles rap against the wood a few times only for rory to let herself into his room, the corners of her lips tugging up into a smile. it doesn’t take her long before she makes her way to the bed, kicking her shoes off and setting the bag that she has slung over her shoulder onto the ground. she reaches into the bag, pulling out a wrapped krispie treat before she crawls onto the bed so that she is laying on her stomach next to him. “i neglected my promise this morning, so here you go.” she mumbles, her hand laying the treat on his chest before her chin comes to rest on the palm of her hands.
