🌿 three times my muse thought about sharing a cigarette with yours, and the one time they did.
One. HE THINKS ABOUT quitting just as often as he lights up. It has become a literal extension of his hand, a sixth finger, a habit he can’t quite let go of. His eyes become intense and fixed when he doesn’t have one. The hair on his neck stands. Agitation. Irritation. Snark. He settles for verbally tearing heads before resorting to the physical act of doing so becomes a desire he can’t shake. He looks to the person beside him with a stick in his mouth and Junseo is eager to ask for a hit. But a co-worker of his walks out of the club and tosses him a pack of his favorite brand. He says nothing.
Two. YOU CAN TELL this guy’s a regular by the amount of nights he spends loitering in front of the club with a cigarette in his hand. It smells like a problem and Junseo stuffs his hands in his pockets as the other guy takes another drag. Junseo’s tempted, real tempted to snatch the light from the other guy and inhale as much nicotine he can get his lungs on. He grunts, pivots, and walks back into the nightclub without a single word.
Three. IT IS THE look in his eyes that saves Junseo. I’ve been clean for roughly too long and this fucking sucks. His co-worker says nothing as he exits the back of the club, heading directly for the guy he knows is always there. God, he needed one. Not a full one ( hence the sharing ) but enough to get a kick and not be a such a dick. But the guy isn’t there. Not tonight. Of course not tonight.
Yes. IN SOME WAYS it feels like a nightmare to live without a cigarette. The patch gives him bruises, not salve to his addiction. Vaping different flavors are not a solution, but rather a Glade plug-in scent he can blow into the cold night. He needed a real fix. Junseo sits outside his parlour job this time when he watches the guy from the nightclub talking with someone down the street. They light up and share a cigarette the way Junseo has been aching to do all week. He moves with haste as he approaches the guy he recognizes, abruptly pulls the cigarette from the other’s mouth, and takes a long drag from it before handing it back. Ah, that’s the shit.
