Good morning ☀️ Yesterday I’ve posted @cocorocha at @csiriano #fw20202021 show in New York #fashionweeks. Now here’s the second part of that hype about the look. Source: @wwd: @lesdogggg behaving like she’s not at fashion show but at some stadium watching Olympics or Beyonce or JLo opening whatever sportive event they usually open. And that’s the moment to clarify a status of fashion weeks. It’s not about appreciation of talents, beauty or craftsmanship, dreams about future designs and success. It’s an hippodrom. What I felt after watching these clips is similar to harassment. And I’m not even a designer nor a model from that show. Do you remember the scene from My fair lady, when Eliza screamed at Ascot: “Move your bloomin’ arse!”⁣? Doesn’t it look familiar? (Second slide is @lesdogggg record of her epic hype move). The only difference from race it’s not a horse at who’s back she’s screaming. I don’t even know why we continue these shows. There’s no such thing as major trends anymore. And there’s no such thing as own authentic vision of fashion and it’s future, just numerous customization of old ideas and old tricks. If before the top of the tops was to invent something new and exquisite, now it’s to show that designer can copy major stuff and multiply it in different colours or materials or discussion about models, their sizes, colours and skin conditions. NYFW is getting very close to WTF abbreviation in my mind after the last few seasons.
