If you don't mind i'd like add my point to this discussion. with premade characters such as jhin you have the basic personality and traits that the character already possess it's then those traits and personality flaws and perks that makes it interesting to read how they would develop as a person ( or conscious being cause i know we have a lot of different races in league ) and honestly each person is going to interpret the character in different ways as it's art. And personally i like your art
Oh yes, definitely to all these points, as these characters do have a certain structure and foundation. But the moment you take a step of creative liberty to your own personal thoughts on how you want to act on the muse, this one specifically, nuh-uh. I agree to everything you said, especially the development part and interpretations… but some interpretations aren’t allowed.
These characters, they have souls and from Riot games, we are only given a percentage of it. If we want to take on a character, from our own directive and from what we write, from our own events, they can either gain or lose specific pieces, yet the foundations will remain intact. These are characters that are supposed to grow, because in life, we all grow still from our actions and consequences. Some people don’t allow personal growth or renditions of the characters growth, because hey… their experiences MUST be mutual. Because hey, we all grew up the same way.
Because HEY, WE ALL WANT TO BE RIGHT AND MMMMMM, BEING RIGHT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. RIGHT? No it’s not.
