closed for zarin, @fxllxwmyfxxt located at deserters dock, evening hour
at least three times, nandini had already noticed zarin, passing him by unconsciously. she'd only been there with purpose, anyway. hair a stark pale auburn blonde, with her real locks hidden underneath. dressed up far more fancy than she'd prefer to be, with an accent distinctively northern, she'd been waltzing around the dock like the wife of a rich noble. scolding children as they passed her by, splashing mud across her skirts- and out of the corner of her eye, keeping an eye on the target she trailed. the other, somehow, continued to find zarin.
one of the times nandini brushed by, all aglow in soft pinks && a lacey bonnet, her stealthy fingers had snagged a tool she knew he'd need by the end of the day. stashing it away, hidden, until the sun began to sink into the sea && her target retired home. finally, it was her time. time to lurk in the streets, perhaps catch a good ale, steal a lump of change to go back to the shop the next morning && acquire a new leather sheath for her dagger.
more importantly... she wanted to say hello to an old friend. dipping her hands off the dock into the water, nandini scrubbed her palms to her face, removing the makeup that hid her truth, changing the shape of her bones in the sunlight, but left the pale-colored wig in it's fancy updo on still. zarin was still there, presumably finishing for the night like the rest of the dockworkers. forcing down a mischievous grin, nan dipped her head so that the extended rim of the bonnet would hide her face in shadow, and sashayed up to zarin with a posture quite unlike her own, more natural hunch-like position. " i believe you forgot something. " nandini spoke, still in the foreigner accent, it's tone a pitch or two higher than her own... before giggling, and revealing the tool she'd stolen hours earlier. with the moonlight allowed to hit her face now, she dipped behind a stack of crates nearly as tall as herself, and pulled the wig off to melt into the girl he'd actually recognize. " here. i'd wager you'd be missing that. "
