A Thief's Eye {Masquerade/Open}
The castle was nice enough, she supposed, but it made her uncomfortable. The stone walls and guards just left her with a constant sinking sensation. She was a pirate for goodness sake; this was the kind of situation she tried to avoid, not walk right into. It didn’t help that she’d analyzed the chances of being ale to make a quick escape in this dress and they’d come up lacking.
The blonde slipped through the crowd until she found herself back at the edge of the room. Dancing had been nice but now she needed to make a few checks. Sharp eyes flickered around the room, noting guard positions and patrols, exits and escape routes and added them together to come up with a few possibilities regarding what the guards would most likely do if in pursuit of a fleeing target.
It didn’t look reassuring. If she could use one of those fancy knives to cut off part of her dress then maybe but they were dreadfully blunt. Still, she wouldn’t mind coming back in her usual gear and giving the place a pirates once over some time.
She shivered her discomfort at the security and nipped through an open door to the outside. The air was crisp and clear as she unhooked a flask from her thigh and took a drink. “Parapets could work.”
They could also use a clean but she didn’t say that aloud. She hummed appreciatively as she felt the whiskey settle in her stomach. Champagne was nice enough but it was as useful as juice if you wanted to get drunk.
