Almost done with Ruki’s LE route and there is a lot of new information.
Ruki had to suffer two BSOD moments. Then there is the problem he has with keeping things from his loved ones in order to protect them. And how his brothers blame themselves for how he has become. Also, the part with Trismégiste collecting cadavers unsettled my stomach a little bit. Imagine just going around town and carting around corpses for the purpose of experimentation.
Kino mostly just spied and then delivered the revelation, confirming Ruki’s worst fears. There’s still more I have to read, but so far it hasn’t been good for Ruki. Yui does her best, but she’s no mind-reader and I only wished Ruki could have learned to have more faith in his brothers and her sooner to tell them. He and Yuma got into a brawl over it. Then it was kind of like someone getting into a fight with their spouse so they spend some time at their relatives house lol. But hindsight is 20/20 I guess. In the end, it brought the Mukami closer to understanding each other. And it’s sweet that they already considered Yui as part of their family. I may make another post about my thoughts later.
Kanato was surprisingly courteous when he told Ruki and Yui of their invitation to the montly dinner lol. I just find it amusing how the Sakamaki don’t talk at their monthly dinner, yet they still have it after Karlheinz died. Traditions and all that jazz.
I ended up writing a little bullet analysis of Shu as Vampire King. Heh heh. It’s funny because he’s always like ‘Reiji, do this. Reiji, do that’ and Reiji has to listen to him. But Shu isn’t as lazy and unmotivated as he was before – ppl like to stigmatize him as this sad boy who sleeps all day and much angst and depression blah blah blah but he’s actually very capable of functioning when he really wants to. People seem to forget or not understand him at all (lol). Ruki even says that he’s a man who can do things well when he puts his mind to it. Out of all the Sakamaki, I truly do believe Shu (and Reiji) make the best rulers. With that, I’ll conclude with a quote from HP that seems to fit Shu:
“It is a curious thing, but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. Those who… have leadership thrust upon them, and take up the mantle because they must, and find to their own surprise that they wear it well.” (source)
