What happened to Fymenhera??? They deactivated??? Why?
what does 'menhera' mean?
As I understand it, “menhera,” the linguistic term, originates from the phrase “mental-healther” as spelled out in Japanese, and later combined/shortened to “menhera.”
It also stands, as a movement (someone can correct me if this isn’t 100% the best brief description I can give) for the statement against negative social stigma of mental illness, and spreads awareness through expressive (often vent?) art, writing, fashion, etc.
The blog @fymenhera where I learned more about the term myself gets this question a lot too, so I’ll link you to their info page, if that helps further clarify!

Menhera: What’s Menhera?
Do you know what happened to fymenhera? (Hope I’m not bothering you btw)
I’ve been out all day (and still am) but I’ve just heard about this from the other fym mods. This was not intentional by us, we did not delete, so it has been deleted by tumblr itself (due to being reported, maybe?)
Mods are working to get it back, but don’t know how long that will take.
Really otherwise don’t know why this has happened, sorry!
I wanted to try the menhera style, but I have to ask, do you have to have a mental illness to wear menhera clothing?
I personally don’t think so, I believe it’s okay to wear the fashion as long as you understand a little bit of the context behind it. It’s okay to wear something simply because you like it of course, but I think it’s important to understand in the case of menhera that in wearing a medical/menhera theme it kind of encompasses the community as well. I think it’s okay, though, for menhera to also apply to people with physical ailments, so if you’re wearing menhera due to something physical I’d say it’s alright (although that is my personal opinion!). The underlying point of the menhera movement, to me, is awareness that not everyone is healthy, and that not being healthy 100% of the time is okay.
I could see wearing menhera but not having mental illness as a way of support, personally? I’m sure there are some people out there who disagree, but I think as long as it’s a good natured “I like this print or style and want to support my friends in the community” it’s alright as long as there’s some sense of knowledge there to the community’s message (I think of it like an LGBTQ+ ally wearing a pride shirt).
Granted a lot of ‘menhera’ fashion is just large, comfy clothes, so by all means if that’s what makes you feel great, I say go for it! @fymenhera has a lot of information on their blog about what “menhera clothing” entails, and what is/isn’t menhera, so I think they would also be a good resource to check out! I hope I’ve answered your ask well but feel free to ask for anything else if you have any more questions!
