Making my own post about something I saw on the dash but what actually truly gets me about the whole “society wants trans women dead and trans men detransitioned” deal is that, even if you ignore all the trans men and mascs that would fight for their identity and bodily autonomy, who would be institutionalized or killed or commit suicide in the ensuing fight - which of course you shouldn’t ignore them if you want to position yourself as beig pro trans rights and trans lives, but even if you were to for some reason, it is STILL a profoundly evil and fundamentally antifeminist belief.

I think many people, even on ‘this’ side of the debate, tend to think that cis women have it really easy and they are so accepted in patriarchal society and live a life free of significant strife. But that could not be further from the truth: the life of a cis woman is by and large a life of objectification, beatings, coercion, gaslighting, forced domestic caregiving and reproductive labor, medical abuse, censoring, intellectual diminishment, workplace discrimination, rape, victim blaming, and even femicide. This is true even of the most privileged, middle class straight white woman you can imagine.

You can only say “they want trans women dead and trans men detransitioned!” in a way that implies trans men get a much better deal if you believe that the life of a cis woman is easy and free of conflict or hostility. And you can only believe that if you’ve always either ignored or even actively chosen not to believe cis women and especially cis female feminists when they report and speak of their experiences - in other words, if you are a raging antifeminist.
