This is a scene depicting the moment when Fymna had her head ribbon split, but not exactly the same one in my mind. The Phione was too young when it happened.
It was an illegal experiment of evolution, and Zai had all but watched in horror (and chains) as her baby nearly lost her essence. Some odd way or another, they survived through this.
As a result, Fymna completely drained away her Hydration ability and can no longer heal herself in the rain or within normal water bodies.

My shiny Wailord is nicknamed Pillow, thus the idea of the Phione holding the Whale plushie came up. Sorry for minimizing him into a doll! xD
