When Sapphire first arrived and Lorr began to show more than his usual passing interest in her, the other dragons watched Fyodr anxiously, as inconspicuously as possible. Though he was never anything but polite to Sapphire, and he was as sarcastic and biting as ever with Lorrigan, Fyodr began to spend less time with his friend, preferring instead to slink away to Lorek's watch point. As Lorek's curiosity about the situation grew, Fyodr had to find new ways to deflect his questioning with questions of his own. Quite without meaning to, Fyodr found himself learning how to be a Watcher, and abandoned his previous role of Scout to relieve Lorek of some of his shifts in the hollow.

Arriving to the clan within hours of Lorrigan, it wasn't entirely surprising that the two Skydancers bonded over those first few weeks. What was surprising was that they stayed together. As Lorr's best friend and confidante, Fyodr is often left to fix the trouble his friend flirts his way into. Constantly exasperated with the ridiculous situations he finds himself in, the other dragons have grown used to the pair racing through the lair, Fyodr hurling water bombs and insults at Lorr, leaving chaos in their wake.
